During our regular business hours, if you encounter a pet emergency, we kindly request that you contact us beforehand at 860-859-1649 to inform us about the situation. If your pet’s condition requires overnight nursing care or specialized treatment beyond our capabilities, we will facilitate a smooth referral process. We will coordinate your pet’s transfer to a reputable critical care or specialty hospital, where they will receive the required advanced attention and medical expertise. Your pet’s well-being is our utmost priority, and we are committed to working with you to ensure the best possible outcome in any emergency.

When Should I Seek Emergency Care For My Pet?

The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for your pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait. However, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet.

  • Labored or difficult breathing
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
  • Sudden onset of weakness
  • Acute abdominal swelling
  • Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
  • Toxin ingestion
  • Bleeding
  • Seizures
  • Exhibits symptoms of heat stroke
  • High or low temperature (more than 104°F or less than 100°F)
  • Inability to urinate or defecate
